How to play

Nine Men's Morris

Players alternate placing nine stones onto the graph. A line of three connected stones forms a mill and lets you remove an opponent stone. Stones outside mills must be removed first, unless every enemy stone is in a mill.

After placement, slide along a line to a neighboring empty point. A player reduced to three stones may fly to any empty point. With no stones left to place, fewer than three stones or no legal move loses. Threefold repetition or 100 moves without capture after placement is a draw.

A little strategy

A mill that can open and close again may be more useful than two isolated threats.

Tap a piece, then a highlighted destination. Use arrow keys to move focus and Enter or Space to choose. Undo restores your whole turn, including the computer reply. Changing mode starts a new game.
