How to play

Mancala

This Kalah board starts with four seeds in each of twelve pits. Coral owns the bottom six pits and the right store. Gold owns the top six pits and the left store.

Choose one of your nonempty pits. Sow its seeds counterclockwise, including your own store and skipping the other store. Ending in your store gives another turn.

Ending in an empty pit on your own side captures that seed and any seeds directly opposite, if the opposite pit is nonempty. When either side is empty, all remaining seeds go to their owner’s store. Most seeds wins.

A little strategy

Count before sowing. An extra turn can set up a capture that was not available one move earlier.

Play with touch or mouse. Use Tab or the arrow keys to move between board squares, then Enter or Space to choose. Undo takes back your move and the computer’s reply.
