How to play

Dots and Boxes

Choose an unclaimed edge between two dots. Completing the fourth side of a box gives you that box and another turn.

The 5 × 5 dots form 16 boxes. When every box is claimed, the player with the most boxes wins. A tied score is a draw.

A little strategy

An edge that creates the third side of a box can give your opponent a long chain of captures.

Play with touch or mouse. Use Tab or the arrow keys to move between board squares, then Enter or Space to choose. Undo takes back your move and the computer’s reply.
