How to play

Checkers

This 8 × 8 English draughts board uses forward-moving men and kings that move diagonally in either direction. Captures are mandatory. If a jump can continue, the same piece must keep jumping.

Reaching the far row crowns a man and ends that turn. A player with no legal move loses. Three repeated positions or 80 half-turns without a capture or a man moving make a draw.

A little strategy

Keep your pieces connected. A forced jump can be used to draw a defender out of position.

Tap a piece, then a highlighted destination. Use arrow keys to move focus and Enter or Space to choose. Undo restores your whole turn, including the computer reply. Changing mode starts a new game.
