How to play

Breakthrough

Select a pawn and move it one row forward. Coral moves toward the top, Gold toward the bottom. Move straight into an empty square or diagonally into an empty or enemy square.

Only diagonal moves capture. Reach the opposite back row to win. A player with no legal moves loses. Pawns never move backward.

A little strategy

A protected pair of pawns is harder to stop than a lone runner. Leave a defender near your back row.

Play with touch or mouse. Use Tab or the arrow keys to move between board squares, then Enter or Space to choose. Undo takes back your move and the computer’s reply.
